Springfield, MA - The Adelphi University golf team traveled to Springfield, Massachusetts on Monday, April 21 to compete in the AIC Invitational held at the Springfield Country Club. After day one action the Panthers are in first place, lead Post University by five strokes, while Oliver Hudesman is also in first, four strokes clear of the field. Adelphi leads the field of 13 teams by five strokes with a 306, Post University and Pace University are tied for second at 311, while AIC (318) and Dominican (322) round out the top-five. Hudesman leads all players with a first round score of four under par, 68. He is the only golfer under par and is four strokes up on Alex Daley of Bryant University. Adelphi's Brant Kummerfeld is third overall with a two over par score of 74, while Matt Demeo is in a tie for 16th (79). Jantzen Vargas and Joe Ostrowski round out Adelphi's top-five, as Vargas is tied for 44th (85) and Ostrowski shot a 89 to earn a tie for 59th. Adelphi returns to action on Tuesday, April 22 when they close out the two-day AIC Invitational. |
