Springfield, MA - The Adelphi University golf team closed out the AIC Invitational in Springfield, Massachusetts on Tuesday, April 22. The Panthers shot a team score of 608, placing second overall, while Oliver Hudesman won the individual title by three strokes. Post University (604) captured the team title, followed by Adelphi in second, Pace University (623) was third overall. Umass-Lowell (628) and St. Thomas Aquinas (631) rounded out the top-five. Hudesman wrapped up the two-day event with a on over par 73, to shoot a two-day total of three under par 141. Teammate Brant Kummerfeld was second overall, three strokes behind Hudesman with an even par score of 144, after shooting two under par 70 on Tuesday. Matt Demeo (79-74-153), Jantzen Vargas (85-85-170) and Joe Ostrowski (89-85-174) rounded out adelphi top-five. Demeo was ninth overall, while Vargas placed 52nd and Ostrowski was 58th. Adelphi will now wait and see if they earned a berth in the NCAA Division II Northeast Regional, which will be held May 5-7 at St. Anne's Golf Club in New Castle, Delaware. |
