Garden City, NY - Freshman Richard Byrd (Central Islip, NY) and Junior Alvin Vivican, III (Brentwood, NY) were named to the East Coast Conference (ECC) all-conference list announced by the conference office and voted on by the league's coaches for the 2007-2008 season. Byrd was named Rookie of the Year, while teammate Vivican earned a spot on the ECC Third Team. Vivican shares this honor with Khaleef Allicott of Queens, Cassius Chaney of New Haven, Glenn Martin of Molloy and Andrew Wright if NYIT.

To receive his rookie of the year honor, Byrd has averaged 13.4 points, 4.2 rebounds and has accumulated 32 steals. Byrd has also been the recipient of ECC Rookie of the Week six times this season and is ranked 12th in the conference for average points per game.

To earn his spot on the ECC Third Team, Vivican has averaged 10.6 points per game and leads Adelphi with 55 assists. Vivican currently sits 22nd in conference in scoring and is ranked second in free-throw percentage at .868.

Adelphi will return to action this Saturday, March 8, when they travel to Flushing, NY (Queens College) to face the Concordia College Clippers in the semi-final round of the East Coast Conference play-offs.
